In this work, a female believer, a resident of the Cosmic Punk Universe, holds the unknown entity "Dark Sun" to her chest and absorbs its energy. She does not succumb to the world, but looks ahead with a rebellious and defiant attitude. She has a strong will and has her "eyes" open, as depicted in the frame at the bottom of the work. This is a metaphor for the insight and wisdom of being able to see the essence of things and the invisible truth, while looking at the world objectively, and accepting one's own feelings and desires. In a modern society dominated by cynicism, this work is a symbol of "hope." The deepest rebellion is to have hope and be sincere. It shows that by accepting ourselves and looking at the world with an inquisitive mind, we can build a better and stronger tomorrow.

Curatorial Notes

Stories connect us. India, the world's largest country with a population of 1.4 billion, is a country where diverse cultures, languages, and religions coexist. India has different myths and stories for each region and religion, which are deeply rooted in people's daily lives and spiritual lives. For example, festivals such as Diwali and Holi originate from ancient myths and are celebrated by the entire community. Such events promote the formation of identity, deepen mutual understanding between different communities, and bring harmony to society.

In big cities that have experienced rapid economic growth, such as Delhi and Mumbai, modern lifestyles are widespread and large shopping malls and entertainment facilities are abundant. However, with modernization due to globalization and technological development, young people have fewer opportunities to come into contact with their unique traditional culture and ancient myths and stories. This situation is also seen in Japan in recent years. Passing on one's own culture to the next generation while maintaining a balance between tradition and innovation is a global challenge, not just for India and Japan. Against the backdrop of these challenges, BOOMRANNG has created a modern myth called "COSMICPUNK". They depict the essence and emotions of humans that have not changed from ancient times to the present, and show values ​​that resonate with us today. We hope that through this exhibition, the hope for the future that they have put into their works will reach many people.
