Mount Fuji floats beyond the scenery, which suddenly disappears from view in the thick mist. In the foreground, a rapid current surges forward. Just before Kajikazawa, the Kamanashi River, Fuefuki River, and other rivers that irrigate the Kofu Basin join together to form the raging Fuji River. In the background, Fuji floating in the mist is beautifully blurred , while in the foreground, the bubbling rapids are depicted with precise pointillism. In the middle ground , simplified curves that could be interpreted as the flow of the river, wind, and mist are expressed with uneven textures . In the foreground, similar to Fuji in the background, a cliff, a fisherman, and a fishing line are arranged in a triangle. The taut straight lines of the fishing line give the picture a sense of tension, making it a stunning work that is hard to believe is made in one color . The indigo print of Ishibanzawa is said to be Hokusai's greatest indigo print. The multicolor print made from the same block is a later print, but the block has worn down and the lines are thick and faded.
